Health and Well Being
Our pastoral care team offers support to children in school, families out of school and work with our external partners beyond the school, so that individual pupil's needs can be met and achieve their full potential.
Key members of the pastoral team are as follows:
- Mrs. S. Wilson (Learning Mentor)
- Mrs. K. White (Senco)
Our Learning Mentor, Sharon Wilson, works across the whole school. Her responsibilities include attendance and punctuality, supporting new children to settle in at Hinguar, liaising with other providers such as Children's Integrated Services to support children and their families.
Our SENCO, Mrs. Kerri White oversees the pastoral team and links with the work of the team with a special needs focus.
Each team member works alongside class teachers to help care for the wellbeing of all children. In most cases children or parents will engage with the class teacher first before any involvement by the pastoral team. Children can also refer themselves for help with any home or school situation they feel they cannot come to terms with on their own. The team works with children in lots of different ways from individual sessions, to group work and sometimes class work.
All Pastoral members help out at playtimes involving children in positive play.
If you have any concerns that the Pastoral Team could help you with please drop by or give school a call and the office will put you through. One of our Team is usually in the playground most mornings.
