SECAT and the LA have now confirmed admission arrangements for the school for 2025/2026
Children start primary school in the school year in which they reach the age of five. Children officially start their primary school education when they enter a Reception year class.

Prosepective Parents
Prospective Parents for Reception 2024 intake are invited to come into school for the following sessions:
Thursday 7th November 2023 at 3.30pm
Thursday 14th November 2023 at 9.30am
Please contact the school office on 01702 292721 to make a booking. Places are limited, so will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Admission Policy and Process
All admissions to the primary school are co-ordinated through the 'The School Admission Team, Department for People', Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS2 6ER. Parents must submit a completed application to the department who will then advise if a place is available at Hinguar Primary. Parents can request the brochure 'Primary School Admissions', produced by the local authority, which gives an explanation of the admission criteria and procedures. Admissions during an academic year are called In-year admissions. Applications forms and further details about in-year admission should be made directly to the local authority. Primary School Admissions September 2024
If you have a child born between 01/09/19 and 31/08/20 he or she is due to start school in September 2024. The closing date for applications is 15/01/24. The Primary School Admissions booklet and online applications are available on: www.southend.gov.uk/admissions.
Applications are not treated on a "first come first served" basis and are processed according to the published determined admission arrangements. We strongly recommend parents to refer to the Admissions Booklet (link below) for further information about the admission process and for information on the school admission criteria.
