At Hinguar we celebrate our pupils' success and achievements through a variety of certificates and awards during the term. 

Celebration Certifcate

During our celebration assembly identified pupils from each class receive a certificate. This award is for improvement, or a particular achievement in their learning. The class teacher explains to the whole school why they have selected that pupil.

Catch Mes

A 'catch me' is awarded to pupils when they show excellent behaviour or learning behaviours. 'Catch mes' are collected throughout the year for Bronze, silver, gold and platinum awards.

Hinguar Stars

A Hinguar Star Stamp is awarded to a pupil at the end of each week for reading at home a minimum of three times. The Hinguar Stamp is placed in the Home/School book each week.

• To achieve a Bronze Hinguar Star your child needs to receive 10 Hinguar Star stamps.
• To achieve a Silver Hinguar Star your child needs to receive 20 Hinguar Star stamps.
• To achieve a Gold Hinguar Star your child needs to receive 35 Hinguar Star stamps.

At the end of each term, during the last assembly for the term children will be awarded their Hinguar Star badge.

Headteacher Award

The Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher award pupils for good work or effort.

Times Table Challenge

The Times Table Challenge Award is presented to a pupil if they have successfully answered quick fire questions based on time tables facts. The Times Table Challenge Award is differentiated for each age group and linked to National Curriculum expectations.

The Times Table Awards are as follows:

• Bronze Award
• Silver Award
• Gold Award

In the centre of your child's home school book will be a copy of their age-related Times Table Award they will be working to achieve. For further information on particular year group expectations please download below.

Attendance

Each week, attendance data for classes is collated and a class from the lower school and upper school receives an additional playtime.
