Each week pupils are set individual spellings.

In Reception, spellings are introduced as part of word-building opportunities within phonics lessons and as part of frequently used words to read and spell by the end of the Reception year.

In Year 1 and Year 2 spellings continue to be set within phonics lessons and as part of reading and spelling frequently used words by the end of KS1.

From Year 3 – Year 6 spellings are set according to pupil’s ability.
