Literacy workshops

We organise workshops to provide further information about the work and learning in our school to give insights into how parents can support their child's learning at home. For those parents who are unable to make our workshops, information from the workshops can be found and downloaded below for the following:

Story Telling Workshop

On 24th April Early Years parents took part in a storytelling workshop to unpick and define what storytelling is and to explore different story telling strategies to use both in school and at home. Parents reflected on their own storytelling experiences as a chid and as a parent and as a group, created an invented story using a 'story mountain' approach and ideas from character, feelings and settings banks.

Parents also had a glimpse of story scribing and story acting sessions in the classroom through recorded storytelling sessions of the children in Seahorse Class. Please download key handouts from this session.
